Built before 1877, this house is now owned and preserved by Vedanta Society here as a memorial to Swami Vivekananda ji. Inside, the house has been restored to its original decor wherever possible. The bedroom where Vivekananda ji slept is now a sanctuary for meditation. The table at which he dined is still downstairs near the fireplace. Devotees can walk through the parlor where he spoke, the kitchen where he cooked, and they can stroll in the garden where he often played with the children.
I felt the joy and energy of being at the very soil where Swami Vivekananda ji stayed and stood, and now I feel the true joy of sharing this energy with you, my dear friends.
