CALL  OF  THE  ETERNAL

                      In the lone cracked mirror around here,

                      Looking  at  'me' with infernal  passion

                      I see  two for one, and quietly shudder,

                      at the one I am, and the other I was

                                                    before I was broken.

                      In  one  reflection  is  that  pampered

                      presiding  confident  self

                      ever  looking  down upon the other --

                      trembling  nervous  eyelids  now blue.

                      The two at  times  engaging  in fragile

                      but  deep   reserved   communication,

                      as  if  they  have  something of import

                      to  share in ways unbeknown to them,

                      in scherzo now, and the next moment,

                      they  erupt in crescendo, as if life was

                      an  unfinished  symphony

                      of  an  angry mind,  working  on mind, 

                      with  all  its  galaxy of thoughts,

                      clamoring to be heard even if just once

                      by  someone,  somehow,  somewhere !

                      Mattered little if the audience was there,

                      or if the instruments were all set to tune.

                      Amidst the polarized actions and

                      sudden reactions,

                      to be was the mean,and to be  the end,

                      as  if  it  did not matter how we got there.

                      Yes, it may not have mattered then

                                                    but it sure does now,

                      for  in  the  ever  shrinking  tide  of  life,

                      we feverishly start counting, recounting,

                      and  then  accounting  for  the  unclear

                      superimposed notes we played,

                      the right notes we missed,or juxtaposed,

                      and for all the times we were

                                            out of tune with the Self ...

                      Self... the One and the Only Witness

                      of the two " me's " in the now dusted

                      cracked  obscure  distorted  mirror

                      that  is about  to  fall, and  yet  it is

                      seeking  some  false  identification,

                      kind of certificate of  authentication

                      that may arrive one day too late

                                                      for the verdict,

                      the only verdict of essence,

                      The call of the Eternal ! ..... !!

                      AM  I  READY ?  Am I...??....???
