वो तथाकथित ओल्गा नदी किसी भी सूरत में वोल्गा की वैचारिकता को जीती है क्या ?  और ये पक्षी क्या ओल्गा के किनारे रहते हैं .. जैसे कि वोल्गा की प्रतिष्ठा साइबेरियन क्रेन के नाम पर है ?

हम दूर देश से टूर पर आये साइबेरिआइ पक्षी

इस   बार पहले सी गंगा को न पाकर दुखी हैं

मगर  ये  प्रण  है अगली  बार हम ओल्गा  से भर भर चोंच  लायेंगे  जल

और भर देंगे  पहले सी पावन  पवित्र   बहती सी गंगा 

उपरोक्त आपकी ही पंक्तियाँ है, भाईजी.

लेकिन इन सबके बावज़ूद आपकी रचना अति उच्च श्रेणी की है. एक बार पुनः बधाई.

भाई अरुण जी, बिना मेरे नाम को इंगित किये आपने एक आवश्यक जानकारी को चस्पां किया इस हेतु आपका सादर आभार.

आपने जो कुछ साझा किया है वह सही है और सटीक है किन्तु....  जिस ’माइग्रेटिंग बर्ड’ की चर्चा आपके ’न्यूज आइटम’ में है वह ’क्रेन’ परिवार का है नकि ’क्रो’ परिवार का.  ’साइबेरियन क्रेन’  --और कई-कई बार तो ’फ्लेमिंगो’ भी, जैसे कि राजस्थान के चौर में-- अवश्य इसी मौसम में आते हैं. मगर उनका आना वीरानियों या खेतों के अलहदे स्थान में होता है जहाँ पानी मिलता हो, चाहे वह गंगा नदी ही क्यों न हो.  मगर ये ’क्रेन’ परिवार के सदस्य (साइबेरियन सारस) गंगा नदी के जल में लोगों के सहवास में किल्लोल नहीं करते. जिन पक्षियों को इंगित यह कविता करती है और जो चित्र चस्पां हुआ है वह ऑस्ट्रेलिया और न्यूजीलैण्ड से आये पक्षियों का है. सोही मैंने अपनी बात कही है.

हम अब जानकारियाँ साझा कर रहे हैं यह बहुत अच्छी प्रक्रिया है.  इस हेतु सादर धन्यवाद.

Winged visitors capture the heart of city

VARANASI: Spreading wings for a little flight and surfing on the waves of the Ganga, a number of black-spotted gulls (migratory birds) remained the star attraction of ghats in the city on Thursday as a number of cameras flashed to get the best possible pictures of the winged visitors.

The winter season in the millennia-old city has already become synonymous with the arrival of migratory birds coming from cold regions of the world to spend winters in the holy city after undertaking a flight of more than 10,000-km. The magnificent birds add to the panoramic view of the world-famous ghats that includes the golden sandbed and greenery on the other side of the majestic river.

"These special type of migratory birds with over 100 species and two prominent species, including gulls and buntings, have been coming to the city in the winter season since a long time," said senior professor in the department of Zoology, Banaras Hindu University, Chandra Mohini Chaturvedi while talking to TOI. It may be mentioned here that JP Thapial of the department, also known as the Father of Avian Endocrinology in the country, has pioneered work in the field of migratory birds and the department has also conducted experimental studies to understand the behaviour of these migratory birds.

As per Chaturvedi, one of the students of Prof Thapial, these migratory birds are homeotherms like human beings and their body temperature is not affected by change in temperature of the outside environment. However, after a certain limit with sharp fall in mercury in the polar regions, the endogenous hormonal changes in the body prepare them for migration during the autumn season towards tropical regions. Their body becomes lean and thin for migratory flight and they have accurate sense of direction and destination, using the direction of stars in the night and the sun in the day time. "Some of them are regulated by unknown body mechanism that allows them to reach the destination with pin-point accuracy. They deposit fat in their bodies with the start of the spring season and fly their way back to their native place for the breeding season," she informed.

The experimental studies in the department have also revealed that some species of the migratory birds have senses to gauge the electro magnetic radiation (radio transmitters) for better sense of direction and location. Also, the role of hormone prolactin has been found to be important for triggering migration while secretion of hormones from brain region (hypothalamus) plays crucial role in reproduction in the breeding season.

इस कविता पर क्या कहूँ, कैसे कहूँ ?  हम आपके स्वरों मे सुर लगा कर बस रो सकते हैं.  भाईजी, जीभ जब भन्नाहट-भरी तीखी मिर्च के आतप से झन्नायी हुई हो तो स्वर-सीत्कार आलाप नहीं लिया करते.

मग़र,  उगता सूरज लाल भले हो, फिरभी, वह लाली नहीं उजाला बाँटा करता है. अप्रवासी पक्षियों को इंगित कर बहुत कुछ कहा आपने.  अच्छा लगा.

एक बात, तथ्यात्मक यह है कि बनारस की गंगा और प्रयाग के संगम में किलोल करते मौसमी सही मग़र हमारे दैनिक जीवन का हिस्सा बने ये पक्षी न्यूजीलैण्ड और ऑस्ट्रेलिया की वादियों से आते हैं जहाँ ’वोल्गा’ का अभिभूतकारी  ’जल’ नहीं बहा करता. ..  :-)))
